"Free Trial Was Pretty Much Useless"
I tried the free trial thinking it might actually help, but nope. It scanned my drive and acted like it found stuff, then basically hit me with the “pay first” wall before I could recover anything useful. Like, what’s the point of a trial if you can’t even test the main feature? I wasted time clicking around, got annoyed, and just uninstalled it

"Wish I hadn’t paid for it"
I tried Stellar Data Recovery because I was hoping to recover some old emails from a damaged Outlook file, i regret spending the money. It did manage to find a few messages, so it wasn’t a complete failure, but a lot of the emails were missing attachments or came back with strange formatting. The scan also took way longer than I expected.
For the price, I really thought the results would be better. I contacted support, but they mostly sent me basic troubleshooting steps I had already tried. It might be okay if you just want to take a quick shot at recovering something, but I wouldn’t use it again

I used StellarInfo when I lost a file, and to be fair, it did manage to find some things, so I can’t say it didn’t work. The software itself seemed okay, but the cost felt a bit hard to justify for such a basic, one-time recovery need.
I get that businesses might be able to afford it more easily, but for regular people just trying to recover a personal file, it didn’t feel very reasonable. It would seem more fair if they offered a lower-cost option for small jobs instead of making everyone pay the bigger price.

I tried StellarInfo because I had some files stuck on an old WD external drive, plus a 128GB SanDisk SD card I thought might be a lost cause.
I was pleasantly surprised that it detected both of them right away without much effort on my end. I even tested it later with a Seagate HDD from my desktop, and that showed up fine too. No strange setup steps or driver headaches.
The scan did take a bit of time, but I didn’t mind since it ended up recovering the photos and work documents I needed. Overall, I’m happy with how smoothly it went

I was a little nervous about sending in my drive since it had personal documents and photos on it. I bought the software expecting to get started right away, but the license key wouldn’t activate at first. I ended up having to contact support and just sit around waiting instead of doing what I had planned. It did finally start working, but for paid software, that whole process was way more annoying than it should’ve been...

I started the scan thinking it would take a reasonable amount of time, but it just kept going and barely made any progress. After a few hours, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it running indefinitely, so I stopped it. Maybe it works better for others, but for me it was way too slow...

I used stellarinfo.com after my drive started having issues, and to be fair, it did find and recover a good chunk of my files. The frustrating part was that some of my photos and documents wouldn’t open afterward, which was disappointing. I’ve trusted Stellar before and sort of wanted to stick with them because of that, but this made me question it a bit. It wasn’t a total loss, just not quite the level of file integrity I expected for the price.

I used Stellar Data Recovery mainly for the preview option. It did show some files before recovery, which helped. Some previews were slow though. A few didn’t open right. Not bad, just a bit hit or miss.

I barely got any useful updates about my case. Every time I heard from them, it was just vague stuff that didn’t really tell me anything, and nothing seemed to actually move forward. I felt like I was the one stuck waiting around while everyone else just carried on, and it was really frustrating.
"Price wasn’t as clear as I expected"
I got frustrated with the pricing on stellarinfo.com. At first it seemed straightforward, like okay, I know what I’m getting into, but then once I kept going, actually, that’s where it started feeling less clear.
I really don’t like having to click around or wait until later to figure out the actual cost. Just put the real price upfront, because otherwise it feels like I’m being pulled along without knowing what I’m agreeing to.
The tool itself might be fine, I can’t really say much there, but the pricing setup put me off. Maybe other people won’t care, but for me, that was enough that I wouldn’t use them again.

"Installer kept getting stuck..."
I tried installing the software twice, and both times it got stuck right near the end. I even restarted my laptop and gave it another shot, but nope... same issue. Ended up wasting most of my evening on it, and I just gave up. Not exactly the best first impression!
